A New Bloom

There was too much oxygen near the top. The others had warned me that going too close could cause damage — ‘After all,’ they warned, ‘you have never breathed just air. Your lungs will burst.’I don’t believe it. I’ve seen glimpses of what is out there. People, walking on earth. Rolling conveyences. And the sky … I want to feel the bright orange light on my skin.There must be a way.
