An Inauspicious NaNoWriMo Beginning

Dinner is going to be late.I slept late today, having stayed up too late last night. I had an urge to start watching RahXephon again, so sue me.Anyway, today in 1 November, meaning it’s time to rock the quill and papyrus. National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) and all. I have a collection of short stories planned — whether they will add up to 50,000 words worth, who knows? The point is, I’ve said I would write every day this month and here it is the first day.And I wrote.Just now.If you remember my typical writing form, I like to use paper and pencil as the first draft, so I won’t be able to report on how many actual words I’ve done until much (much, much) later than the end of the month I suspect. However, I will pop in for accountability purposes.Today’s accomplishment: one full short story for the collection.Yay, me.

  1. Happy NaNoWriMo! Good luck! I look forward to reading the stories you come up with this month at some point in the future. ☺️

    1. Thank you so much! I don’t know how many words I will land at since I’m not counting as I go along. It’s just a matter of getting all the stories out of my head and onto the page this month. After that, I’ll get down to popping them into Scrivener and will most likely circle back to the NaNo site and be a late WriMo’er. I have an idea of who I’d like to pitch it to but we’ll see. Updates as they occur!
